Privacy
Short version: this site has no ads, no tracking cookies unless you allow them, and keeps what you send through the form for 12 months at most.
Who is responsible
Lowie Deheegher, performing as LOW E, enterprise number 0798.283.076. Questions about your data or a request to see or delete it: email (see contact). See also the legal notice.
The contact and booking form
When you send the form we receive your name, email address, organisation, your message and, for bookings, the event date, city, venue and capacity you fill in.
- Why: to answer you and to handle booking requests. Legal basis: steps you ask for before a possible agreement, and our legitimate interest in answering messages (GDPR art. 6.1 b and f).
- Who gets it: the person who handles your type of question: the booking agency for booking requests (Tripwire Worldwide), LOW E's management for management, brand and collab requests, and LOW E himself for press and other questions. LOW E also gets a copy of every message. The message is delivered by email through Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France).
- How long: the copy in the site's database is deleted automatically 12 months after it arrives. The email in the recipient's inbox follows their own email retention.
- Spam protection: Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a person, not a bot, sends the form. For that it processes technical data such as your IP address and browser characteristics; it is not used for advertising. To stop floods we also count messages per connection for one hour, using a one-way hash of the IP address that is deleted after a day.
Release alerts (fan list)
You can sign up to get an email when LOW E releases new music.
- What we keep: your email address, the date you signed up and confirmed, where on the site you signed up (for example "links" or a release page) and the sentence you agreed to.
- Double opt-in: you are only on the list after you tap the link in the confirmation mail. An unconfirmed signup is deleted automatically after 7 days.
- Why: to send release alerts, nothing else. Legal basis: your consent (GDPR art. 6.1 a). The box is never ticked for you.
- How long: until you unsubscribe. Every alert has an unsubscribe link (one click); your address is then deleted right away, not just marked.
- Who sends it: the mails go out through Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France). The list itself is kept on this site's own database; nothing is sold or shared.
- No tracking: the alerts contain no tracking pixels of our own. Brevo always adds its own pixel to HTML mails; we tell Brevo you did not consent to it, so Brevo only counts opens anonymously in totals. We count clicks on the "Listen now" button per release and day, without knowing who clicked.
Play (games)
- Chrome your name, the share cards and the rave video: your name, the images and the video are made on your own device. If you put a photo of your face on the dancer, it is read and cropped in your browser only: it is never uploaded, we never see it, and it is gone when you leave or reload the page. Nothing is sent to us or stored.
- Kick Lab: the sound and the WAV file are made on your device. The settings of a kick are only in the link if you share it.
- Hakken Hero leaderboard: if you save a score, we keep the nickname you choose, the score, accuracy, longest combo, the track, difficulty and the time. No email address, no IP address. Scores that are not in the all-time top 20 of a track are deleted automatically after 30 days; a top-20 score stays until it drops out or you ask us to delete it. Legal basis: you choose to put your score on the public board (GDPR art. 6.1 a). Turnstile checks score submissions like the contact form.
- Counters: we count how often the games are played, files downloaded, names generated and videos made, per day and game only, with nothing about you.
Visitor statistics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many people visit which page, from which country and kind of device, and which site sent them. It uses no cookies, no fingerprinting and does not store IP addresses, so it cannot follow you across sites. Legal basis: legitimate interest in knowing how the site is used.
Clicks on the streaming buttons of a release are counted per release, platform and day. That count contains nothing about you.
Meta Pixel (only with your consent)
This site can use the Meta Pixel to measure LOW E's ads on Instagram and Facebook and to show them to people who visited the site. It only loads after you click Accept in the cookie banner, and the banner only appears while the Pixel is switched on (it is off right now).
- What it does: it sets the cookie
_fbp(kept up to 90 days) and sends Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. your visit (page, browser, IP address), which release links you click (release and platform) and the fact that you sent the contact form (never its content). - Who is responsible: we decide together with Meta that this data is collected and sent; what Meta does with it afterwards is Meta's responsibility. See Meta's privacy policy ↗.
- Legal basis: your consent (GDPR art. 6.1 a; Belgian Electronic Communications Act art. 129). Your choice is kept for 6 months, then we ask again.
- Change your mind: any time via Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. Withdrawing removes the Meta cookies from this site and stops the Pixel.
Stored in your browser
These are needed for the site to work the way you chose, stay on your device and need no consent:
lowe_consent(local storage, 6 months): your cookie choice.lowe_loaded,lowe_rave,lowe_rave_ok(session storage, until you close the tab): whether the intro already played and whether you turned rave mode on.lowe_hh_offset,lowe_hh_nick(local storage, until you clear it): your Hakken Hero timing calibration and the last nickname you used, so you don't have to type them again.- Editors who log in to the admin get a login cookie. Visitors never do.
Videos, players and links
- YouTube: videos load in YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com) and only after you press play. From that moment Google's privacy policy applies.
- Apple Music: the player on a release page loads only when you open "Play in the browser".
- Instagram: posts are shown as copies from our own storage, so no Instagram code runs on this site.
- Streaming and shop links take you to that service, where its own privacy policy applies.
- Fonts and images come from this site itself; nothing loads from Google Fonts.
Hosting and service providers
The site, its database and media storage run on Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc.), which also provides Turnstile and Web Analytics. Cloudflare processes IP addresses to deliver and protect the site. Emails go through Brevo (France). Where a provider is outside the EU, transfers are covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and/or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, to limit or object to its use, to receive it in a portable format, and you can withdraw consent at any time. Write to email (see contact); we answer within a month. You can also complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit / Autorité de protection des données), Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels, dataprotectionauthority.be ↗.
